We're getting married!

Jack Liam & Julian Ryn

We are delighted that you’ll be joining us for our big day on 5th September 2026, just over one month after the 10th anniversary of our relationship!

A selfie of Jack and Julian smiling while seated in an electric tram, the sea visible through the windows in the background.

Venue

We are getting married at Didsbury Parsonage in Didsbury, Greater Manchester, a small and beautiful Grade II listed building located within the wonderful Parsonage Gardens, managed by the non-profit Didsbury Parsonage Trust. We will have the whole building to ourselves, including a small courtyard out the back, but the gardens at the front are open to the public so please be mindful of this! However, feel free to wander the gardens and take photos. The full address is Didsbury Parsonage Trust, The Old Parsonage, Stenner Lane, Didsbury, Manchester, M20 2RQ, United Kingdom. Click here for the Google Maps link.

Getting There

By public transport:
You can take a 35 minute Metrolink (tram) ride from Manchester Victoria station to Didsbury Village tram stop, then walk 15 minutes to the Parsonage. The walk is on pavement alongside roads and should be fine for wheelchair users. For the full Metrolink map, click here.
By taxi:
You should have no problems getting a taxi to drop you off right by the Parsonage Gardens.
By car:
There is no dedicated parking at the venue, but their website says “there is limited street parking on Stenner Lane or you can use the Pay & Display carpark behind The Didsbury pub situated across the road.

Accessibility

Didsbury Parsonage is fully wheelchair accessible on the ground floor (where the ceremony and reception will take place) with an accessible bathroom.Wheelchair-using guests are free to stay in their wheelchairs during the ceremony or transfer out to chairs (wheelchairs can be stored in the cloak room when not in use), we just need to know which you plan on so we can arrange the seating appropriately. When you RSVP please provide us with any accessibility requirements so we can make sure we get it all right!Chairs will be provided during the ceremony, and some chairs will be provided during the drinks reception (it is a smaller room so we can't fit chairs for everyone in it). Please mention in your RSVP if you would like us to make sure there is a seat available during the reception for you, and we will mark it as reserved for you so you always have a place to sit.During the day, if needed, guests can rest in the cloak room if they need a quiet space to get away from the hustle and bustle. Please respect this quiet space and refrain from using it as a general social space.

important info

Point of Contact on the DayIf you've got any questions before the big day, please feel free to email us at [email protected]!However, on the day itself, we please ask you to direct any questions or problems to Eamon (pronounced "Ay-mon"), Julian’s groomsman (tel. 07867 117341), or Casey, Jack’s groomsperson (tel. 07741 282056).

AccommodationWe would recommend you book accommodation in Manchester City Centre rather than Didsbury, which is a small town. The City Centre has far more things to do and it's easy to reach Didsbury by hopping on the tram!

Food & DrinkAs Didsbury Parsonage does not hold an alcohol license, we will be providing the drinks. Everyone will be provided with a glass of prosecco or there is the option of Schloer for the non-drinkers. Please indicate on your RSVP which you would prefer. You are also welcome to bring your own drinks if this is not to your taste. Glasses will be provided by the venue. As the Parsonage Gardens is open to the public, please do not bring alcohol or glassware outside of the venue.Food won’t be provided during the event, but everyone is welcome to have a slice of cake! Afterwards, we are going to go to a local pub where you can grab your own food and drinks if you'd like.

Photography & Phone PolicyWe will have a professional photographer on the day so we please ask that you refrain from using your phone or taking photos during the ceremony. However, feel free to take photos at any other time - just please try to avoid blocking our photographer!

dress code

Please dress your best, in whatever way that may look! We aren't strict and would love to see you looking and feeling good.If you would like more guidance, aim for semi-formal/cocktail attire. Our wedding will have a rustic/boho vibe, so natural fabrics, floral patterns, and avoiding glitter/shiny fabrics/jeans will probably fit in best, but again, we aren't fussy at all. The venue recommends avoiding stiletto heels due to the polished wooden floors. For people who want it, we have a Pinterest board to give you style ideas. There will be a room designated as a Cloak Room for any bags, coats, etc, that you wish to drop off, though it will be unattended.Manchester is famously rainy, so although our event will be indoors, please be prepared for rain to/from the venue. On average, September sits at around 11 or 12 degrees celsius.

guests & pets

Children & Plus OnesAs we won’t have any child-friendly things to do at the event, we ask that our wedding be adults-only - any children attending would be very bored!Due to the tight capacity of the venue, we ask that only people addressed on our invites attend the event.

PetsThe venue is dog-friendly, so Gwen (our German Shepherd/Border Collie mix) will be in attendance as our ring-bearer! She will be kept on-lead during the entire event and no one is required to interact with her if they prefer not to. She is very friendly towards both people and dogs, but she’s also a little bit anxious, so don’t worry if she seems a little timid or unsure around so many new people.Feel free to bring your own well-behaved puppers! We just ask that they be dog-social so that Gwen can say hello. If any dogs get too overstimulated during the event, they are welcome to go rest upstairs in the conference room. We know accidents happen, but please note you will be liable for any cleaning costs incurred by your dog.
